| Overview | The first spawn was on Thursday 16th of April 2020. The breeding group consisted of 12 males and 7 females. The smallest male was at least 20mm SL and the smallest female was at least 25mm SL. The individuals were obtained from ThePetCentre Lower Hutt. | ||||||

| Behaviour | Entire tank very active on first light. Multiple males following spawning females. Males chase females and attempt to cut the females off by swimming infront of them. Male presents to the female sideways so her face is against his side and then curls his body around her head while he releases his milt. Female holds egg between her fins and then places the egg against surfaces. In this case they are against the glass sides of the tank. | ||||||
