Breeding |
Behaviour | Females enters the cave and stays there for 2-3 days. Fills the entire bottom area with green big eggs |
Eggs | There were 100 green eggs laid which were 3.0mm in diameter. |
Time to hatch | 10 days Number: 100 Free swimming: 100 days |
Segregation | Kept the cave w/male in the breeding tank and the fry grew up just fine. Have also hatched them in a large hang-on breeding box where the entire cave fit. The 2nd method is better for the fry as it's easier to feed the newly hatched fry as they don't seem to hunt food actively rather than try and eat everything they pass. |

Fry and juvenile feeding | Frozen artemia, TabiMin, NovoPleco - takes anything. But demands a strong feeding regime to get enough food as they don't seem to hunt down the food in the start... They just look around and see what shows up. |
