| Furniture | Silica Sand substrate, 1 floating mop - dark green, one floating bunch of java moss, several medium sized smooth rocks- various shades of grey, large sponge filter and Matten filter. | ||||||

| Heating | Room temperature - 72-72 deg. F in the winter - warming to the high 70's in the summer months. Recorded temperature at spawning was 76.4 deg F, on a particularly warm day in late spring. | ||||||

| Behaviour | Spawning began at 6:45 am or shortly before as I witnessed the first eggs being deposited. It appeared 2 females and all 4 males were involved. Females carried 1 or 2 eggs at a time and took minutes to decide where to put them. At one point I saw a female searching for a hiding spot for her egg for more than 15 minutes. | ||||||
| Eggs | There were 30 light gray eggs laid which were 2.2mm in diameter. | ||||||

| Segregation | I removed the egg to a small specimen container and provided moderate aeration with an airstone. I added one alder cone which was removed after 24 hours, then did 50% water changes on the container daily with breeding tank water until the eggs hatched. I removed 6 eggs that had fungused during this time. They hatched on the 6th day and it took 24 hours between the time the 1st egg hatched and the last one did. | ||||||
