Overview The first spawn was on Sunday 30th of January 2011. The breeding group consisted of 2 males and 3 females. The smallest male was at least 110mm SL and the smallest female was at least 90mm SL. The individuals were obtained from Amwell Aquatics.

Behaviour Became frisky after one of the twice weekly water changes using water of approx. same temp. Males started displaying to and chasing females up the glass in areas of highest current flow. Eggs were laid in a clump very near top of water right where flow hits the glass.
Eggs There were 50 pale yellow eggs laid which were 1.5mm in diameter.

Segregation Eggs were removed with razor blade and treated with methylene blue. Hatched in net 'breeder cage'. Adults continue to spawn about every 3 weeks.

Fry and juvenile feeding Fed on BBS and microworms for a week or so then finely ground flake added.
