Scientific Name Hemipsilichthys calmoni  (Steindachner, 1907)
Common Name
Type Locality Rio Cubatao in Santa Catharina at Theresopolis, Brazil.
Synonym(s) Psilichthys cameroni
Etymology Greek, hemi = half + Greek, psilos = hairless + Greek, ichtys = fish.

Size 150mm or 5.9" SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.
Identification Pectoral fin overlapping half the length of pelvic fin; absence of a skin flap on dorsal margin of the pectoral-fin spine; nuptial males with pectoral-fin spines thick, straight and richly ornamented with short hypertrophied odontodes.
