Size 98mm or 3.9" SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.
Identification Pareiorhaphis species are primarily diagnosed from remaining neoplecostomines by having the canal plate firmly articulated to the preopercle, and by a series of sexually-dimorphic features of hypertrophied odontodes of adult males, giving the fish a hispid appearance.

Absence of adipose fin; cleithral width 27.3-31.7% SL; presence of normally developed dermal plates on the dorsal surface of body; nuptial males with few and delicate hypertrophied odontodes on the lateral margin of head, usually hidden by extensive soft fleshy lobes.
