FeedingThese fish appear to be predominantly herbivorous and will readily feed from a wide array of aquarium fare. Algae discs can make up a good portion of their diet, supplemented with any number of additional prepared flake or pellet foods.
FurnitureReally does best in a planted aquarium, other cover is not necessary although the fish has at least a passing affinity with rounded peebles.
Suggested TankmatesMost small community fishes that prefer a little current and temperatures on the lower side.
BreedingThese fish are egg scatterers, breeding in a fashion much like a member of the callicthyid genus Corydoras. See CotM article link below for more details.

Took a chance and bought 8 of which 5 are still going strong. They spend more time in the open than true otos, although their markings can still make them difficult to count. Recently added 10 more. A devil to count but 13 of 15 still going.", (17) Yo-han, (18) Mvinyl (k: 6), (19) homerno1 (k: 8), (20) catfishchaos, who also notes: "Disappears on wood, cool little cat.", (21) cory-ap2.
