Type Locality San Bernardino Creek, Rio Yaqui, Arizona, U.S.A. or n. border of Sonara, Mexico.

Pronunciation ick tal oo russ - pry see aye
Etymology Ictalurus: From the Greek ichthys, meaning fish, and ailouros, meaning cat; literally "fish cat" (=catfish). Named to honour William Wightman Price.
