|Distribution||Known only from the middle section of the Río Cuao, a clear-water tributary of the Río Sipapo of the Orinoco River basin of south-western Venezuela.

|Feeding||Wild caught fish had no indication of animal matter in its gut content, so presumably a mainly vegetarian diet.|
|Furniture||In nature, the habitat is rocky, fast-flowing streams, so an aquarium should be set up with high current and large smooth stones.|
