Scientific Name Pterosturisoma microps  (Eigenmann & Allen, 1942)
Common Name Long-tailed Sturisoma
Type Locality Iquitos, Peru.
Synonym(s) Harttia microps
Etymology Genus: Greek, pteron = wing, fin + German, sturio = sturgeon + Greek, stoma = mouth This specific epithet refers to its small(mikros=small) eyes(ops=eyes).
