Scientific Name Cetopsorhamdia orinoco  Schultz, 1944
Common Name
Type Locality Río Torbes, 1 kilometers above Táriba, Río Orinoco system, Venezuela.
Etymology Cetopsorhamdia: Greek, ketos = a marine monster or whale and the Brazilian vernacular name, Nhamdia/Jamdia.
