Type Locality Rio Branco at Bem Querer; Rio Surumú, Brazil.
Synonym(s) Cetopsorhamdia insidiosus, Imparfinis insidiosus
Etymology Cetopsorhamdia: Greek, ketos = a marine monster or whale and the Brazilian vernacular name, Nhamdia/Jamdia.
