|Etymology||Neblin- is based on the Neblina camp that is the location where the type specimen was caught. -ichtys: fish. Literally "fish from Neblina". The specific epithet is from the Latin words brevis which means short,and bracchium meaning forearm, in reference to the relatively short pectoral spines present in Neblinichthys.|
|Size||80mm or 3.1" SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.|
|Distribution||South America: Upper Mazaruni River, Essequibo drainage, Guyana.
