Type Locality Córrego Agua Parada, tributary of Rio Pintado, 11 kilometers west from Novo Planalto, rio Araguaia system, 13.17°S, 49.62°W, Goiás State, Brazil.
Pronunciation auto SINK luss
Etymology Greek, ous, oto = ear + Latin, cinclus = latticework; in allusion to the holes of the head in the ears. Tapirape: Named after the indigenous tribe Tapirapé.
