|Identification||Sometimes labelled as Opsodoras stubelii or similar in hobby literature. This species has a spotted caudal fin, as opposed to D. punctatus which can have a spotted caudal fin but additionally has two mid lobe horizontal dark stripes.|
|Distribution||Amazon and upper Paraguay River basins: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Peru.
