|Type Locality||Djerem River below falls at the rapids 6-7 kilometers south from Mbakaou, 6°15'N, 12°46'E, Cameroon.|
|Etymology||After the type locality of this species, the river Djerem, Cameroon.|
|Size||113mm or 4.4" SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.|
Back and head are brown, a dark brown band is present along the lateral line, a broad dark line on the belly from the base of the pectoral fin to the anterior part of the base of the anal, this line continues indistinctly, as faint speckes above the base of the anal fin, belly pale, fins generally uncolored, the base of the caudal and dorsal fins being somewhat darker. Similar to S.zairensis but the barbels are shorter in S. djeremi.
