Identification | A single midlateral stripe and a faint stripe at the low on the body to the read from the around the caudal fin. No dark spots on caudal fin. Often confused with Paratropius buffei, which has a third line around mid-body that runs about half across the body from the head back. |
Sexing | Females are larger and have a rounded, short genital papilla. |
General Remarks | The fish sold under the name of P. debauwi is most often P. buffei. |
