|Scientific Name||Brochis sp. (Cw132)|
|Etymology||Brochis: From the Greek brochis, meaning inkhorn; in reference to the resemblance of the fish to one.|
|Identification||The genus Brochis can be distinguished from other corydoradine species by the fact that Brochis have more than 10 rays in the dorsal fin, whilst all other members of the Corydoradinae have 7 rays.
Similar to B. sp. CW034 in that both species have pigmented spots on the head. This species differs from CW034 by having with a lower body profile and a more rounded head.
|General Remarks||Occasionally collected as by-catch with Corydoras pantanalensis; exported via Manaus.|
