Scientific Name Trichomycterus bahianus  Costa, 1992
Common Name
Type Locality Tributary stream of ribeirao Caveira, Rio Una basin, 6.5 kilometers southeast of São José, Bahia, Brazil.
Etymology Trichomycterus: From the Greek trichos, meaning hair and mykter, meaning nose; in reference to the barbels.
