Etymology	Tatia: Named after the ichthyologist C. Tate Regan.
Species Information
Size	90mm or 3.5" SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.
Identification	T. galaxias is often confused with T. intermedia, and fish in shops is often labeled T. galaxias when it is in fact T. intermedia. Both species have dark base with light spots, but on T. intermedia the spots are off-white and fade with age. In T. galaxias the spots are bright white, and the body velvety black. The body shape of T. galaxias is also more slender. Considered by some authors to be a sub-species of the very similar T. aulopygia.
Sexing	Mature males exhibit modified anal fin copulatory organ.
