Type Locality Córrego Debaixo da Serra, an upper course tributary of córrego do Beijinho, a left margin affluent of rio Grande at Reservoir of Camargos, in piedmont of Serra de Carrancas, 44°36'08.7"W, 21°26'39.7"S, Carrancas, Minas Gerais, Brazil, depth 980-1000 m.
Etymology (Greek)Pareia=Jaw + (Greek)rhinos=nose.
