|Etymology||After the Prince of Darkness; in reference to the cavernicolous habit. From the Greek eurys, meaning wide, and stoma, meaning mouth (or opening).|
|Size||110mm or 4.3" SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.|
|Identification||No eyes; white or pink. Jaw teeth well developed; lips at corner of mouth thinck; lower jaw normal in shape, slightly shorter than upper jaw. Separate gill membranes with strong fold between them. Broad, flat head and snout. Long, high adipose fin. Relatively short anal fin, rounded in outline, 19-20 rays. Caudal fin truncate or slightly emarginate. Lateral-line canals and pores on head well developed.|
|Distribution||North America. Known from 5 artesian wells penetrating San Antonio Pool of Edwards Aquifer in and near San Antonio, Bexar County in Texas, USA.
Found in depths of 305-582 m underground.
