Scientific Name Genidens barbus  (Lacepède, 1803)
Common Name Mochuelo (Argentinian)
Type Locality Tropical America.
Synonym(s) Bagrus barbatus, Netuma barba, Pimelodus barbus, Pimelodus commersonii, Pimelodus versicolor, Silurus 16-radiatus, Silurus marinus, Tachisurus upsolonophorus
Etymology Genidens: From the Greek geny, meaning face or jaw and the Latin dens, meaning teeth.

Size 450mm or 17.7" SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.
Identification Body dark blue dorsally, silvery white ventrally. Dorsal fin, adipose fin, soft ray of pectoral fin and maxillary barbel dark blue. Posterior margins of caudal and anal fins slightly blackish.
