Re: Stimulating Scleromystax Kronei to spawn
I bought a small 4 fish breeding group from Frank. They spawned as soon as I put them in the tank and gave them a good feed of black worms. The room is kept chill, below 60 most of the time and as low as 45, but it has high 216 watts on 45L usg, and that generates a lot of heat, so the surface water ...

Re: Sold as Chocolate Rafael
Looks like it will take time to get reasonable pics for that guy! That pic looks pretty well Photo Shopped.
I am still considering my options on this one. I want a dwarf, like my lucippinus. I like the markings and colors but not the size.

Re: Sold as Chocolate Rafael
After viewing the catalogue pics and profiles, I was a little afraid these would turn ot to be P. armatulus and not P. costatus--let alone Chcocolate Rafaels. :( I may return them--cute as they are.
Thanks everyone.
BTW, have the pics been updated? If the id has changed and the P. costatus is ...

Here is some face time.
These guys get scary and not so cute as adults! LOL And a little bigger than I would choose. I have to think about this one.
Thanks Dave Rinaldo

What are these little guys? They are very handsome. They are still small: at the most a couple of inches. I got 5. Should I get more or take them back?

I get the same date on 4 different computers, 2 different networks as well as a different account (the work account) that I have tried. I think it is unlikely that it is a problem at my end.

Re: This showed up in a shipment of C. pastazensis
Sure looks like the picture, Karsten. Thanks.
I hope I can get it some friends. It is a handsome devil.
But could it also be C097 aka Corydoras sp. cf. sychri ? Nope guess not no spots on the fins. Althought pics on other sites show c097 with fin spots.

Hmm
Lets work at it. We will need a web site? I am tech challenged.
But I have the time mostly at night Sunday night to early Thursday morning to watch it. Not sure how to start. I guess wee need to check our sources to to find if there are others in the area we already connect to.

Really? I thought they required stones and jars and air tubes and tumblers and such. That's why I am so delighted and surprised.
Well I would be delighted anyway. They are such lovely creatures.

Re: Baby S. lucipinnus volunteer! Pics
So these dwarfs are about 2-2.5 yrs old. They are 3-4". As you can see the adult has an adult face. They have been acting jiggy since last year. I could see courting behavior and a gender difference when they were "dancing." I have felt they were ready for some time. But I didn't expect them to ...

Baby S. lucipinnus volunteer! Pics
My dwarf pets gave me at least one baby! :o :D I had just done a water change in the S. lucipinnus tank. I left and came back a little later to the fish room. They were a happy troop in the fresh water. I stopped to wtch and look closer. They are such a lovely fish when they are dancing.
And there ...

Re: too cute!
I have both. They are often referred to as dwarf petrocola, but in reality they are a different species. And a darlin' little cat they are.
It took me quite some time and investigation to figure it out. I bought mine advertised as "dwarf petrocola." But eventually found out their correct ID.

My C. lucipinnus are tank bred by a breeder in Hawaii. Petrocola and lucipinnus are not the same species. I do have wild caught pets.

Re: too cute!
I really have no doubt of that--ids are not a specialty of mine. I am really at a loss very often from pics--notoriously deficient. The ones in the video just look so like my little guys and not at all like my bigger guys. So far the lucipinnus also seem to have a different/more playful personality ...

Re: Cories with Discus
In my experience, keeping fish at very high temps above their range for an extended time (that may translate to more than 6 months) is a recipe for columnaris.
Most Corys with the exception of a few will not tolerate 80 degree F. temps for long, ime. But I am willing to learn.

Great video!
Thanks Richard B. They looked like S. lucipinnus to me too. I think that the lucipinnus and pets look very different actually--so far in my limited experience.
