Hi
I’ve used New Life Spectrum algae wafers for a few years and like them. They are not big, but stay together well and are well liked.

I’ve always struggled to keep the freeze dried tubifex from going all over the tank. Looks like you have a container to feed it which is a great idea. Did you make it? Something you bought?

Re: Tatia intermedia spawned!
Hi Eric, Congrats on getting so many fry! I've used microworms and decap BS eggs as first foods in the past along with Hikari First bites. Never quite sure which one they are eating but it does seem to give me higher success rate than when I first started and did Microworms only.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Congrats on finding that many fry! Are you seeing them eat? Hope you can raise many of them as they are super fun when they get 1inch plus and you see them all flying around the tank!
Good luck.

Good stuff, congrats on hatching them. What do you plan on feeding them? Ive found that decap BS and microworms work best, and only in the dark.
BTW, your fry in the tank is like a "where is waldo!!"

Thanks for documenting this in such detail. With the ones that I have hatched, this looks about right to me, they will sit like that for a day or 2 before becoming true free-swimming.

7 F1 Tatia Intermedia For Sale
Hi all,
Got 7 F1 Tatia Intermedia born and bred in my tanks. About 2-3 inches long, eating everything that hits the water day or night!
Would strongly prefer local pickup in Seacoast NH area, but could meet near Boston.
Not looking for much money, maybe $10 each, a good home is the most important ...

Sounds like the water is good, just need it to eat! Should you be trying something more meaty in the diet? Maybe some frozen bloodworms, brineshrimp etc?

There are some great videos on automatically collecting Celestial pearl Danio eggs, if you have not seen them they are similar to what you are doing here.
Good luck with this, will be interested to see how it works.

These sure look like my young Tatia intermedia to me. They could certainly be something else, but that’s what my best guess would be.
Great fish, grow them up and they will be very active at feeding time!!

Re: Looking for a tiny Tall tank
Id suggest that you make a tank that size yourself as you are unlikely to find one that size. Its not terribly difficult and at this size the glass would be easy to obtain and work with. Have a look online as there are couple different ways to put a tank together.
Good luck, fun project!

Hi,
You may already know, but links in threads to the older Corydoras names are failing with the new names. Here is an example:

Thank you

Thank you for posting, been thinking about doing this with an old 55g for a while but trying to do it all within the tank. This is inspiration to go forward with it.

You should be able to use them both with no issues at all.
Glass is easy, just clean it well and make sure that it does not break in the tank!
The ceramic should be fine also. I use flowerpots in my tanks with no issues. I do soak them in water for a couple days before I put them in the tanks and ...

Thats for the replies, agree on the tank space for rearing fry, especially angelfish and many of the cichlids which produce large numbers of fry!

Hi Eric,
Sorry to hear about your fish trying to make a break for it down the back of the table!
I've had fish do similar things where they end up on the floor for a minute or 2 covered in dust etc. Ive found that most of them make it, although it does take them a couple days to recover.
Good luck.

Re: Woodcatfish diet?
Hello
Can I ask what species of wood cat you have?
I keep 3 sp, and they seem very happy with frozen bloodworms, hikari pellets, NLS pellets, and occasional earthworms.
I have found that they will eat almost anything, but the quantity that they eat is what always amazes me!!

Hi Eric,

I have had no problems betting my intermedia to breed and hatch the eggs, but real issues getting the young to eat and survive the first 10 days recently. Any tips on food/water changes/temp etc etc?
