Yes they have feathered whiskers. They are now in a same tank with few Ossancora species, 4 Hassar orestis, One Nemadoras and Hemidoras sp and they are all schooling together. Very pretty and active species.Marc van Arc wrote:I take it these have feathered whiskers (= Syno style)?

Sorry for the crappy pic/video. Got these from OF Aquarisik. They were sold as Hassar spec. Metallic Blue and they were imported from Peru. Do you guys have any clue what they really are? Better pictures coming up later.

There is nothing too aggressive in your thinking so have you considered some midwater shoaling fish like Parailia pellucida or Pseudeutropius brachypopterus if you can find them - alternatively Kryptopterus minor should be available

I am soo jealous of those. i would trade half my colony of jags for 8 just to mix in with the jags.. LOL.. I have YET to see any Trachelyopterichthys taeniatus in the USA.

To anyone doubting the purchase of Auchenipterus nigripinnis , stop doubting. Simply don't buy. In my opinion and experience this auchenipterid is highly unrecommended. Sorry.
Agreed. My nigripinnis aren't that skittish. Now they live with 50+ Puntius filamentosus and P. arulius and the catfish ...

I've lost two more of the Auchenipterus nigripinnis . Not easy fish to keep in a community tank. They got infected with a some sort of fungus and i tought it might be better to end their suffering.

Which store is this? My LFS very seldom (let's say almost never) have auchenipterids and particulary never the ones I'd like (Ageneiosus species) in their lists.
Its Tampereen akvaariokala. Ask there. Its a good place to get "oddballs". :wink:

Nice fishes Marc! Mine are currently in 300l tank. I added two circulation pumps (1000l/h each), removed some plants and roots and now my fishes look a bit better. They don't bang their head on the glass anymore except on feedingtime. If i throw some bloodworms in the tank it looks like there's 25 ...
