It's a bit of a strange one. As far as i am aware they are wild caught.
It dose seem to be out of my hands why they are dieing. I have taught about the parents, or one of them been the problem. So when i get a chance i will borrow a male or female and see if it is a problem that comes from one of ...

I had a feeling my fry were not growing properly. 1 1/4" after 6 months.
Most would die within a couple of weeks. They would go pale shortly before dieing. See photo.

Just another brief update.
Today i found a male Hypancistrus sp. L66 king tiger pleco fanning some eggs.
These are a couple of days old so the fish would have been still verry sick when the spawning took place.
I cant imaging the female looking at the male and saying "i'll have some of that ...

Hi Barbi. I can see where you are coming from regarding fighting or cave damage, but this is not the case. This is a photo of only one pleco in this condition. The problem is wide spread in the tank and not just on one pleco. I have watched the infection progress from nothing, no signs of bites ...
