Re: UPDATE: sold to me as L229 but later seller said it was L397
whew- now i'm breathing a sigh of relief- literally! okay thanks for the clearification of the temperature thing. Yup, its a reputable seller and he was 100 percent sure the importer was from Columbia. Now I'm really happy that I'm gonna keep my zebras and those dwarf panques together. Thanks Racoll...

Re: UPDATE: sold to me as L229 but later seller said it was L397
before I zoom off to work, the seller confirmed it was from columbia as one dwarf panaque species. NOW which member on this forum is going to be able to help me find an expert? it says on the description that L206 thrive in cooler temperatured tanks and I'm keeping them in 83degree tank with my L046...

Re: Methylene blue dosage
when I purposely collected the panda cory eggs and put them in the tiny containers and let it float in the tank- no water chem/changes and I let a single ramshorn snail do its job- it kept the container fungus free- and the eggs which weren't fertilized were eaten :) I do this once in a while though...

dwarf cory ID and regular cory ID
got last two fish species I needed to ID tonight! got 3 of those big guys left- they ended up in my tank when I was doing wholesales- I think they somehow lasted in my tanks for hiding so well so they're the 3 musketers- as one of them has only one eye hence the reason why I was able to take picture...

Re: Can anyone tell me what species this is?
any chance it might be a variant of the Otocinclus cocama as starting to see nice patterns in the zebras I made the conclusion due to the fact that the op got it from a store that obviously do not know their fish- so its less likely they got something interesting like the species mentioned above as ...

advice needed on species compat. (into 3 tanks)
Problem: Have to make do with 3 tanks as I'm living with my mom- I will not be able to do anything about it as my post with my job has been changed to meet the needs of the company (i'm taking on more responsibilities for the same pay) and my hours has been cut so after winter I'll be looking for a ...

Re: assassin snails breeding
my plecos will kill assassins before they eat the ramshorns... driving me nuts.......so never found out if they bred easily or not. One of the tanks still barely have 2-3 assassins left in it out of 15 that I have purchased for that tank.

My group matches one of the individuals in the picture gallery of the L206 for deadon ID- I'm glad for that picture or I wouldn't have believed it. I'm seeing different possible specimens not as one whole species. Racoll: Which group my guys more likely belong to the Ucayali or the Nanay?

Re: UPDATE: sold to me as L229 but later seller said it was L397
These are Panaque changae . They appear on export lists as "zebra Peckoltia". Jools Hi Jools: what made you come to the conclusion that it is the L226? They do not match at all, ive studied the L226 photos: main things why I believe they're not the L226s 1) They're not even at the 3.9'' m...

Re: UPDATE: sold to me as L229 but later seller said it was L397
I agree MatsP! Its mind boggling what to do with those guys as I'm not sure right now what temperature they're going to thrive in and be able to reproduce as I'll feel forever guilty that I forever wiped out some unknown species forever if I had the last bunch of them. Anyone with exensive panque ba...

The male L271's true size is just over at 5'' mark those- the guys they're at 2 1/2- 2 5/6'' in length alone was able to do informal ruler comparison when they were out feeding.

Have newfounded respect for any aquatic/wildlife/animal photographers. Never in my life had so much difficulty with my Canon powershot A560. How the world do people do their photos so excellent. My conclusion of it not being an L260 is the patterning: looking at the photo
one of my L66 or 333 variant
is more like the photo of UPC's
while my L260

Re: I was hoping they were both L 333'?
Did anyone click on the photo to see them closer up? At first glance, the left fish does appear type be L260 but when I look at the enlarged photo then it looks more like the pattern has the color of L333 and is not nearly as pin striped as L260. I mean I don't know about you guys but I have not se...

And these are definitely different from the L271 here ? The grey-coloured one, I'd call L226 Panaque changae , but I don't think they are usually orange in colour? -- Mats they're definitely different specimens. The little wee ones are only maxing out to 2 3/4'' mark while my L271s are 6x their siz...

This is the group of 4 L271 sold to me as L271, wanted to doublecheck its indeed a L271 and not another panque sp.- I know for sure at least 75% that I do have 3 ladies and 1 male.
