Re: 'Common Plec' (8" brown mottled loricariid) but what kind?
Are the Pterygoplichthys pardalis very variable in colouration then? The one in the first picture has no mottled pattern overlying the spots, and the spots are also very much more regular than the ones on the plec that we've got. How does one go about identifying one species from another? yes I had...

Was L270, now sausage shaped hypans!?!?!
I purchased 20 pieces of all of those L270s from a wholesaler, only 1 made it alive past 2 days, and this was a year and half ago. 15 of them didn't even make it in the shipping bags. 2 of them were even starting to freeze up as soon as I grabbed them out of the bags. out of the 3- this one made it ...

Cory ID AND Bubbles the cory's special looks
This is one of the 3 species of cories in my collection that needed a positive ID. I have 6 individuals in this collection that has managed not to be sold off, traded off or get killed by my stupidity. Have had them for a year and half now and they have not increased in size, only girth. As they wer...

Re: I was hoping they were both L 333'?
I do not believe its at least a L260 because my L260 has very tight looking stripes, this left side looks like a standard king tiger stripes
its only based on the side view.

Re: Chaca and Liosomadoras compatability?
They're predators of bottom dwelling fish thats the category where the catfish falls into- and their mouth is so wide the girth of the l. species does not look like its wider than than any chacas species. its the wideness of the mouth and the way the fish is built that would make me think twice abou...

Re: NEW WC L046 Zebra imperial pl*co SALE!!!
Asking a question that will open a whole can of worms: I liked Saul's prices on the zebra plecos. I paid 200 a pop for 5 on an online auction and to find out that 1 out of the 5 is a bulldog a couple year ago and they were captive bred with a friends encouragement stating it was the best investment....

It's not everyday that someone has an exilis anyhow so yep Jools: 8 dollars for an exilis isn't so bad :D I totally overlooked the lack of adipose fin so thanks Birger for that oversight. So its exilis after all. I'm just going to put those guys with my Panda cories and hopefully they don't gobble u...

Re: Jaguar catfish what they look like when small?
GOT pictures of 4 out of 10 individuals I have. The bright blue light is the smallest of the two and possible being sick with ick, NOT 100% sure it looks like some bumps are the right patterning however some white bumps are too random for my comfort. First set is under blue/white lite that I grabbed...

Jaguar catfish what they look like when small?
I placed an order from an online store- they stated in the description that the exact picture was the exact fish reprenstative from the stock and labeled it Liosomadoras oncinus. When I got the bag- I immediately didn't think they were the jaguar catfish that I had my heart set on. is it possible th...

Hi Nate: How are the zamoras doing though? Miss having them around. Re: sultans not being nice.....?
the hypans were not in the tank when the zamora cats were in the tank (same situation) so I'm ruling out the hypans for sure as they are always in the biggest caves while the tatias are in the pipes, smaller caves, hiding niches, I never see the hypans come out though= I am planning on putting the b...

sultans not being nice.....?
I just discovered torn fins- fins missing on my oil/honeycomb tatias- after closer look about 75% of my 20+ individual tatias had that, just same thing happened that prompted me to give away my zamora cats to nvcichlids few months back. I thought it was due to the fact that they were similiar size a...

 I should be paying more attention to the cories in my tank. personally myself I wouldn't be worried as bronze cories are hardy and give fish a week to settle in and they'll be eating in no time just montior and give them some privacy as they're probably stressed out from all of the moves they have had to do before arriving into your tank- they probably ate t...

I'm wondering if microworm is really needed due to the fact that my panda cories have spawned so many times in my tanks and I was only feeding the inhabitants bloodworms, flake food thats it- I have never intended to spawn them due to tank space however theres a pair in there thats constantly spawni...
