Just expressing my two cents.
I would think that most stores allow you to return fish if done within 2 weeks. Possibly longer.
Go by and ask, if you like, explaining that your tank is not really ready.
Good luck.
Canned Heat, - Just wanted to bump this up in hopes that someone who can help better than I, might see and reply. Also would help if you tried to give more information to help ascertain environmental conditions (tank parameters and tankmates) which might add to the stress. The 'stickie' at the head ...
Hi again, I went to LFS and pondered which fin rot med to use. Hoping to get something not too strong, yet good for target. Came home with something that contains 3 mg Victoria Green B and 30 mg of Acriflavine - per packet per dosage per 10 gal. Etc. Will these ingredients be alright for the BN ...
MatsP, Hi - thanks, yes- there is signs of fin rot on the pectoral fin. Angel is not using her right pectoral fin per usual (noticed last night), and there is visible white fuzz and some erosion on both fins. Angel was not eating as much as usual as of yesterday, also. The behavior hasn't changed ...
Hi folks, As you might recall, within these last 3 weeks I added 3 ancistrus cirrhosus and a young angelfish (who appear to be fine) to my 29 Gal tank with older angel (2 yr old). Perhaps introducing these guys and the stress involved; as well as the previous few months (Nov/Dec)of tank changes ...
I recently added driftwood, following and modifying advice found here on PC. (I'm a newbie) Boiling the driftwood is a way to help sterilize (assuming it fits in a large pan). Folks also suggest running it thru dishwasher with no soap a few times after scrubbing it down. I chose to boil it, then ...
Thanks again, Rest assured I would NEVER use chemicals or additives (because I don't know what I am doing and believe it only leads to mayhem). I read that Angels and these BN were happier is slightly acidic environments so I was hoping/aiming for 6.8 (natural rock precipitates? To be investigated ...
Ok all, The adventure begins. I went back tonight and got the other two. :o Yesterday's adoptee seems to be happy to have a friend to chase around the inlet tubing. The other one is darting around the front of the aquarium.
--Nope. --Now all three got together and communed on the front glass ...
Racoll, I just got 2nd angel (Jan 1) and plan on stopping with that. -An adult (about 2 yrs old) and a little guy (guessing about 4 months - 4 cm body diam). I just have this one main tank that has been up for about 6 years. These possible 4/5 creatures (assuming adoption of the additional LFS BNs ...
Thanks Dave R and Andywoolloo - It sure looks like him/her. -- I have read the CotM and shall read a more tomorrow. I guess the 'current' might be the only concern ? Do you think a strong current from my power filter and airstones might be alright?
I brought this little guy home (tonight) to try to ID. (-To see if he is suitable for angel's tank 29 g. Temp usually 77deg F, with pH of 7.2.) He has some light spotting all over him (smaller more distinct dots on head than on body, relatively larger blots) as well as some whitening along the edge ...
I would think about targeting museum ( Natural History and Aquarium museum shops). Doing a line of 'fish' that are scale models (approximately) would be really cool and I believe they are open to handling unique fine-crafted items. A set of three in sizes ranging from 5 cm to 15 cm (of natural ...
Thanks Matt, - for the info and link. I do love mountain streams and babbling brooks - but not sure I can re-create one (or should at least have another tank).
...So this is how it all starts...

Asking for advice about getting another pleco. Because of the size and availability (and the vacation days) I am tempted to get this little fellow (now). They are labeled as Claetostoma thomasii, and look just like Chaetostoma sp. (1). I like that little turned up nose! I have a 29 gal tank ...
Happy New Year, greetings to you and PC people from EST (Eastern USA). THANKS for your well wishes and wonderful photo capture. They made my day. (You seem to have some fine catfish in really fine photos!!)

Andywooloo - So sorry about your young'un. I suppose we could try to be sure that the heavy pieces or structures are at least resting on the floor if not engineered in a way so that they are fastened. Yet it is probable that the more complex and secure, the more difficult to take apart to clean ...
The best gift ever! Your joy is the essence and miracle of Christmas.
Congrats! May all go smoothly for you three. Thanks for letting us celebrate with you.

Jools, Clare, Jacob and Richard B, Mats, Andywoolloo and Shane - May you have an especially warm, restful and happy holiday. Jools, the clip was uplifting. Thanks. And Merry Christmas to all the regulars whose voice I feel I have come to know a little bit. Planet Catfish is a terrific community ...
Friday update end of week 5): Plecie actually was interested and ate some of the (frozen) brine shrimp mini ice cube as it melted a few days ago! Again yesterday, I set a few near his mouth, and he took in about 1 with some interest. So I was very relieved and hopeful on that point! :| But I write ...
Hi Andywoolloo, Here's the newbie's opinion. I think your Rex's tummy is more spotted than vermiculated (reticulated is the expert's word) so he is pardalis. See the CotM April 2008 for the expert wording!! Apparently the multiradius does not have side patterning that goes into a chevron ...
Hello - I sure enjoy perusing this site. Thank you for all of you. Plecie seems to be lounging atop the white rock that allows him to prop near the top (still), but I am hoping it a good sign that he no longer has to hover atop the air bubbles or under the inlet water stream. He swims in a ...
