Hi, there!
Lucky you! My Corydoras adolfoi still believe I'm Godzilla himself, and quickly turn absolutely invisible when I enter the room. After a brief look in the mirror, I have to say I shouldn't look THAT bad, but fishies may have a slightly differing taste of what is beautiful, and what's not ...

Hobbies!!!!
Beersnob, you are not alone! You should visit the shop bierkonink in Amsterdam, The Netherlands; last time I visited (1997), they had 1400 sorts of beer, included banana beer from the pacific! I firstly read about it in Time Out Amsterdam, and maybe they have a website?

Botia lohachata
Hi!
You do not need to soak the tablets first. The Pakistan Botias are capable of taking care of them. My own Pakistan Botias (B. lohachata) get Tetra tablets, flake food, and one of around 10 sorts of live/frozen food every day.

Avoid those (Rolling?) stones where there obviously are Heavy Metal; if you see metallic colors.

I've encountered leeches on several occations, and actually had them in a tank many years ago (found on fish, and caught with net), both small and larger species.

You are probably right, Silurus!
They look very similar to Paracheirodon innesi "Diamondhead" (s58226-3 in aqualog photo collection 4). They lack the blue band.
But, they also look almost identical to Aphyocharax rathbuni (s02760-4 or s02761-4 in aqualog photo collection 4).

Hi!
I agree totally! We must use all kinds of contacts to animal rights groups, press, and everyone that would be willing to do something, (aquarists societies, LFS?) and tell where and by who such animals are "engineered" and sold! :x
Then WE must take action, and make sure this issue comes up ...

Have you ever considered... actually... is it us that caught the fish...
... or is it the fish that caught...us?
We are hooked, arent we? We do not want to, and are not able to... live without fish?
I can live with that!

Roots vs driftwood
Hi, Fiskars!
I wouldnt use driftwood, as it will start to rot in the tank, and then use a huge share of the oxygen available.
The best roots are those that have been found in marshes/mosses and similar, that are soaked with humus acids, and because of this is preserved. They will rot at a very ...

Calcium deposits
To remove calcium deposits, you might use citric acid (E330), which can be bought in small packets in a kind of powder form. You will find it in food stores, as it is used with food, often to conserve it. Works well, when applied, let to work for a while, then some brushing, rinse with water, and ...

Many species are adaptible, but remember Corys come from soft or very soft waters of south America. First of all, a fish shouldnt only survive, but also thrive.
