My Barbatus would cluster spawn. Sometimes 4 layers thick. Since all of the eggs were in a cluster, fungus would spread quickly. I'm glad I didn't post it then. I'll try to get a shorter video of them. The only videos I have on YouTube is Barbatus spawning (which you posted for me about 15 years ago) and zebra plecos spawning. I'm not sure who posted the Zebra video...but it wasn't me.

When I try to post it to YouTube...it wants me to create a google account. I did get it posted on Facebook. I'm not sure if it's allowed to post the group here. It took hours to upload it. Now I know to keep vids about 30 seconds. This one is 1:45...and that's why I had issues.

I really think the water changes is what kept your Nugget alive. Everything I can find on Rio Iriri (and Rio Xingu) talks about pristine water conditions. I have at least 3 Robustus females that are 4-1/4". Not sure what that converts to in mm's, but I always get "WOWs" from people that see them!

I'm not sure on the mm conversion. But pandas will breed at about 2", and about 1 year old. I prefer to use a spawning mop for pandas, as the males are overly aggressive during mating.

The odontodes on mine have turned a glittery gold on the pectoral and dorsal fins. Probably 10X as much as the orange showing in the pic above. Could this possibly be breeding colors? I didn't want to disturb the fish if they are getting ready to spawn. But I'll try to get pics, when I can.
