I can honestly agree with Barbie about the Melatonia Praecox - they are a stunning fish that brighten up any tank with their beautiful colours (and they are a doddle to keep). Firslty let me say that I have never bred catfish - I have looked at ALL the info I can find. I have put my male hoplo and a gravid female in a breeding tank with a sponge filter and a 8"x8" ceiling tile on the top ......... 3 days later there is bubble's all over the top of the tank :D My...

£150-200 mark. I borrowed a friends Fuji camera and it was rubbish for detailed fish photo's.

Indeed ........ I just syphon the gravel slowly using a normal vaccum - it works for me.

I have a UGF with two power heads in my tank - I got this instead of a external filter due to the LFS saying to me that they have UGF's in ALL their tanks and they have never had any problems.....some of the tanks have been going for well over 10 years and the UGF's have NEVER had to removed and cle...

Hoplo's are class catfish I have 6 females (should be getting a male soon) and I have never had any problems with any of them. They can be a bit boistrous when it comes to feeding time but that it all part of their characters.............

Hello :D - just a little note to introduce myself to the forum............. I have kept various tropical fish for about 2 years now and at present I have a varied fish tank with a fine gravel base, lots of plants and bogwood. It also has a large undergravel filter with powerheads and a Fluval intern...

Can anyone tell me at what size will the male's pectoral fins change colour ? I bought 6 of these lovely cats to try and eventually breed them BUT they are all well over 2.5" long now and none of them are even starting to show orange rays on the front fins .......
