Re: Synodontis and plants

There are two of them, a male and a female each about 6.5inches maybe a bit bigger. They eat, a lot. I feed three types of sinking pellets; Hikari massivore pellets, NLS pellets, and Dainichi veggie FX sinking pellets. I actually overfeed this tank because I have a very slow severum in there and bet...

Synodontis and plants

My two S. eruptus like to eat plants. So far they have wiped out 12 Anubis nana, 5 water onions, and 9 Amazon swords. I am trying to find something they will not eat, what should I try next? I was thinking Vals or moss. Any other suggestions? :P

Re: Wanted: BN Plecos

I do not know of any fish farms within reasonable driving distance from Fort Myers, do you? They seem to be a really common species and I can not figure out why my LFS's do not stock them. Actually my LFS had an albino male about 3 inches and wanted 30$ for him. I thought that was a little high and ...

Otocinclus vestitus

Hello, about 8 months ago I added 4 Otocinclus vestitus to my soft water 20g planted aquarium. One died the first day. Another died several months later. The third died a couple weeks ago and the lone survivor looks bad. I think number 1 died from the stress of the move and looked to be in good body...

Re: Central American Catfish

Thanks for the reply. I was looking for something that would collect missed food off the bottom, I guess I worded that wrong. Basically something that likes to eat off the bottom! What about South American catfish that can tolerate large tankmates?

Re: Synodontis njassae?

They are not really predators, in my experience. I have a 3/4" Corydoras sterbai in the same tank as the my S. decora, and it's been in there since it escaped through a hole in the breeding net at about half it's current size. And my largest decora is between 6-8" long (total length). Of ...

Re: Synodontis njassae?

Very helpful thank you! Hopefully it is mixed with something small as the profile says it can get to be over 10 inches! My mbuna will be snacks!

Synodontis njassae?

This gal (I think) is between 6 and 7 inches from nose to tail tip. Browsing the catelog the closest I could get is Synodontis njassae large spot. She is pretty aggressive and will chase my mbuna around. She also killed the school of tetras you see in picture 2. She looks much better now then in the...

Central American Catfish

Are there any Central American scavenger type catfish suitable for a 75g? Tank mates would include 1 servum, 1 jack dempsey, and 1 firemouth.
