Re: what is this baby pleco?
Do these two look like they are also common bristelnose babies? They are 1.25 - 1.5 inches. They are about a month or so older than the first one.
Ack, I need to ask her for larger photos.

I have an adult Firemouth cichlid that is a bit of a jerk ... I am looking for suggestions for a tough Pleco up to 8" ... one with serious armour is what I'm thinking.
Thank you in advance for suggestions.

This is for another person on a fish forum I moderate on.
She just acquired this Pleco and supposedly it is 4 years old and only 2", however it was kept in disgusting conditions so very well could be stunted.
Thank you so much for help ...

Sensitivity to medications?
I was wondering if Plecos, in general, are sensitive to any medications?
I know that scaleless fish are sensitive and that often any medication needs to be used at half strength or purchased that is "safe" for scaleless fish. Is there anything offhand that should out and out be avoided though?

Yes, my Jag is a male but he is a big chicken who spooks at shadows and currently spends most of his time in his floating nest he makes out of a giant plastic vine amd thus my main reason for wanting a tankmate for him.
We have tried pairning him up with an L200 that was about 3" and the little guy ...

Jag seeks pleco for fun and friendship
Well maybe not "friendship" :)
I have a 9" Jaguar cichlid, who I think could benefit from a tank-mate. We are looking for something that is able to hold it's own and at the same time not harm our Jag. Obviously this would be a "rescue" pleco of significant size. m Any suggestions?

I am currently feeding my L200 (3.5") 1, or 2 if they are the really small ones, Hikari sinking wafer or tablets for bottom feeders daily. He ignores zuchinni completely but I will see him rasping on the sides of the tank (no visable algae however). He will also get any reminants from the Firemouth ...

Feeding Guidelines
Hi -
I am wondering if there is some kind of guideline on the amount to feed a Pleco? I have a 3.5" L200 and a fried has a 4" Common Pleco, Pterygoplichthys pardalis, she's curious about as well.
Thanks in advance.

Brown mystery Pleco

The above shown Pleco is in need of an identity. He was purchased at 1" and is now 3". I'm sorry that is about all the information I have to go on.
In advance, many thanks.

My water is that pH, GH & KH straight from the tap and that's with a water softener. I've tried adjusting my water in the past by using R/O as suggested by mods on another site and aside from that have always been told it's more stressful on the fish to fiddle with pH, GH & KH then it is for them to ...
