I saw this program about a year ago and have been waiting for it to reair! Its amazing. Where the Dorado migrate to spawn is an aquatic plant lovers dream. The water was crystal clear through out the whole strecth of river(you could see a pretty far distance with perfect visibility, strange for a So...

AS I kept scrollin down on the pics I kept thinking that it look like a discus tank, then I saw the photo with the discus. If he is keeping the tank as a discus keeper should(daily water changes in a barebottom tank), then it is not overcrowded in the bio mass department. However, it is overcrowded ...

Synodontis petricola or multipunctatus, or both, would be fine. They are both schooling species, and will be more active and visible in groups. The larger the group/s, the more active and visible they will be. Regarding the stocking list, it looks like a recipe for disaster. If the mbuna and peacoc...

Catfish for a display tank?
IF I play my cards and can finally convince the store owner right I might have the opportunity to set up an 8'x2.5'x3' tank for African cichlids. So far the fish list has a colony of Frontosa, Electric Yellow, Electric Blue, a collection of peacocks, some pseudotropheus, calvus and Orange leleupis, ...

Bristlenose, farlowellas, otos and sturiosomas eat algea and probably won't harm your plants, although the lack somethinng in the looks department. Queen Arabesques, Gold Nuggets, Royals and Zebras are among the most beutiful(certainly there are more) but may either eat your plants and produce a lot ...

You really are going to have to be more specific about what you want. You said you are knew to cats, but are you also new to the whole aquaqrium thing? Tank cycled? Temp? Water parameters would be nice to. Is the tank planted? Do you want a worker or a show stopping pl*co? Since you said how many I ...

Thanks Janne! It seems you read my mind. The L260 was going into one of my 30's, so I can slowly build up a small colony. I have plans to either set up a 3 feet 50 gallon or another pond for L-200 ( If my LFS decides to work with me and get more than one) and the L-147 I haven't decided yet. Anyway,...

I don't know if my input is appreciated or not but I love this tank. It kind of has everythig I like about the hobby. From the altums and plecos to the banjos. It also has a biotypical feel abot it. If it was my tank I would just allow the existing plants to fill up some of the space. Still I love i...

L147 Info, please!
HI I am in need of assistance. Recently my LFS got what they call Chocolate Zebra Brown Plecos(mostly P.maccus), but there is on that has spots on the head and stripes on the tail. It looks to me like L147, except that I don't know anything about the fish or the genus for that manner and the cat-e-l...

Thanks sidguppy. I've spent all this time reading and searching and after going through a lot of photos, info and descriptions I'VE come to the conclusion that in the wild discuss don't experiment the 85+ temp that people keep telling me, but most likely 75-85. After all they seem to escape the heat...

Discus vs Angel
Lately I've pondering starting a tank to house the fishes that I thought I will never be able to keep ( 2 or 3 discus a possible Gold nugget and corys). However I forgot something, the exact samething that allows me to be a better fishkeeper and save time/money, my tap water and the climate in Puert...

I haven't written-off the neons just yet. But I MIGHT go with a venezuelan tetra instead. I've decided to make the l- 200 as the kings of this tank, its the number of individuals that puzzles me since I am not familiar with their temperament (I will like more than one incase of an accidental spawn)....

Thanks Crazie.Eddie(its always good to meet another Ed) I had an idea about their size, my question was directed to the number of individuals(to many to little). What do you think? BTW, I will think about the neons because they are so cool, but after being a fan of some of the moderators and members ...
