colony 8 zebras (photo heavy)
Hi all,
I'm super excited about my colony of 8 zebra. They come from a breeding colony of 12 :d :d :d . I have 1 male and 7 females (that’s what was sold to me with 100% assurance of sex and looking at them they do look the part). Everybody is welcomed to review my photos and tell me what you think ...

Re: How would you split your Ls in different Tanks
Hi Bigbird
2 tanks , each 150L x 50H x 45W
i) 4 x L097
ii) 5 x L129
4 tanks , each 90L x 45H x 60W
i) 6 x L004
ii) 2 x L134 & 2 x L377
iii) L333 x 5
iv) 6 x L080
LG6 - you can put in any tank you like, but I would suggest with the L129s.
Thats how I woul keep them IMO

Re: Help needed to identify L333 and L066
thanks suckermouth
Thats what I had suspected. When I put them back in the tank (separate tanks now, I learned my lesson) and they got their colors back, I had notice in the L066 tank that one of them looked like a 333 and conversely in the L333 tank, one of the 333 looked too much like a 66 ...

Help needed to identify L333 and L066
Hi everyone,
I have 6 x L066 and 3 x L333 around 6.5-8cm. They were kept separately until recently when a perpex barrier became loose and they got through and mixed with each other.
To the best of my abilities I think I've identified to into the 6xL066 and 3xL333. Photos below.

Re: L204 spawning project...
Its widely accepted that the L204 are wood eaters and veg diet, however when I put in zuchini and pellets/granules/bloodworms, they always always go for the meaty foods first and leave the vegies til it rots. Do you actually feed yours daily on meaty foods? or alternate days with vegie and protein ...

Re: L204 spawning project...
hey Mats
Just wondering what your feeding regime is? I feed mine Zuchinni/Vegies everyday and i'd throw in some discus granules and/or bloodworms every 2nd day. Funny thing is, on the days I give them animal protein, they hardly tough their zuchinis.

Jools - wow, 10038 posts!! thats mega
thanks everyone for your advice. I will start to feed my Ls less over the next few weeks and do all the prep work to the tanks and hopefull all is well. I can get someone to check if the power is still running a few days a week.

Agreed, get rid of it and look out for re-infestation. That worm looks like it can do some damage.

Re: how long without feeding? Going on holidays
Thats good to hear from people's experiences regarding long periods of not feeding Ls.
I run a cannister filter in each 4ft tank and also 2 sponge filters. So I'm not worried about filtration. Unlikely that both the cannister filter and airpump will fail at the same time. I have Eheim heaters, so ...

Re: how long without feeding? Going on holidays
I'm assuming that in Nature animal would go for weeks without feeding during the dry months?
Anybody else left their Ls for 3-4 weeks plus without feeding?
On another note, after fasting and start feeding again, are the Ls more than likely start to spawn?

how long without feeding? Going on holidays
Hi all,
I'm wondering how long could L catfish go without us feeding them?
I'm going away on holidays for 3 weeks. Obviously a water 80% water change will need to be done and filter cleaned. But I'm wondering if my L134s, L066 and L046 can survive fasting for 3 weeks?
Any thoughts?
Regards

Congrats on getting your L204s to breed.
I'm interested to know what size cave did you use. What was the length and opening size?
