Re: Please help!!

This sounds very familiar to what happened to my tank. I got infected with callimanus worms. After a lot of searching and a few failed treatments I found a treatment called Chanaverm. This is for pigeons but is also used to treat these worms. The treatment is nearly as bad as the worms though. If it...

Re: What Royal Panaque is this

Cheers Matt. I saw it on some courgette last night. The shop I got/ rescued it from had it in a bare tank. So I doubt it's been getting any wood. The pic is worse than it looks in real life. But I'll keep a eye on it and make sure there is plenty of veg in the tank with the stacks of wood

Re: Bad start to the day

My luck goes from bad to worse. Seems I now have callimanus worms in the tank. These must have been there for a while as I have not added any new fish for over a month. Iv managed to source treatment for these just waiting for it to arrive. The treatment is almost as bad as the worms though so I thi...

Did think about rain water but I was recommend not to.
Do you just test it and put it straight in the tank

Re: Bad start to the day

That could be the reason. I always try to make sure I turn the gravel over completely once a week though and iv had no spikes in and readings. I plan to have multiple tanks set up In the near future so I think I'll give HMA a go and see how I get in from there. Hopefully I can prevent this from happ...

Re: Bad start to the day

Hi guys Thank you for all your responses. It was my wedding yesterday hence no responses. Iv come back today to no more losses. Which makes me think poisoning from some thing the water company has put in the water. In regards to substrate there is about 2 inches oh small gravel I vacumme the tank tw...

Re: Bad start to the day

It's been over a month since iv added any new fish.
I'm confused about the oxygen as well not sure how i can get any more agitation.
I don't have a O2 test kit so can really check it at the moment.

Re: Bad start to the day

That's the only thing I can think of as well Is there any way of stopping this happening again. I can't really get any more agitation of the surface water it would be like a set of rapids. I lost another catfish this morning. Really not happy. I'm not going to do another water change as I think that...

Re: Bad start to the day

New era pleco pellets that I stuck in last night. My last four plecos are sat at the top of the tank behind the filter still. Really wiered. As there is plenty of air etc in the tank. My nanacaras and black widow tetras are still swimming around normally. With the exception of one black widow tetra ...

Re: Bad start to the day

The temp is steady at 28 iv just done a large water change.
And stuck some carbon in my filter for a few days just in case.
And see what happens.
Gives me the chance to increase my panaques to a group may replace them with a group of l204s. Will be giving it some time before I do though

Bad start to the day

I did my usual check of the tank this morning. To find my group of l201s all dead for no apparent reason the male was sat on eggs. My remaining fish and last two remaining plecos. My bristlenoes are all hugging the filter so closely they are virtually in it. Iv tested my water all param are good and...

You can certainly take a very good photo.
But that is a lot of fish in one tank. U must do some serious maintenance to keep that stable.

Re: Some of my panaque's

Thanks rob. I currently have mine in aqua one 165 litre with a pair of bristlenoes and a few tetras. Iv got 2400 lhr filtration on that and a airstone. Running on the aquaone wet dry filter and a external canister filter. My l204 is about 10 cm and the l191 only about 5cm at the moment so got a few ...

Re: Some of my panaque's

Seriously jealous of your set ups rob. Iv got the panaque bug myself but only got room for the one L204 and l191. Hoping to set up a 3m tank myself in a few months. How many panaques do you keep in yours. I'd like to keep a group of 4-5 l204 and 2-3 l191 would this be two much in your opinion with p...

Re: Was told this was l027

Cheers for the link birger. Now that is one huge fish I'd love to see mine reach that size. I'd say iv got a few years though before my little 6cm chain saw reachs that size. Seems I was miss informed that l191 only grows to max 9 inches. At the moment he is in my forty gallon set up that is heavily...

Can any one confirm this.
He needs fattening up a bit so hopefully i can keep him going. The photos are not great i will take some more once he has settled in
