l need some Zen also, l breed peppermints and L201's like nothing but these guys look so close but its just not happening, if was the L201 l would be certain to see eggs in the cave the same day or day after a female took up this position...l am missing something, but what is it, maybe they have spa...

The cave gets quite tight further down, there are three caves and the one they have selected is the largest, there is a male in one of the smallest caves also, but she and the other female want this cave, this male

l notice in the Cat-eLog that the L201 has lost the name Contraden and is now sp., why has that happened?

In the Breeding it states unreported, may l suggest that be changed to "Cave Breeder that does best as a group "

We have a tank with our Hyp. in 8 x 2 x 2, 9 zebs, 10 Contradens and young, there is gravel on the bottom of the tank and is a live with black worm is some sections, where they wave in the current eating any uneaten food, no sign of choking Hypan. young anywhere :D

Wait a moment, black worms dont only come in one size :? , they do breed so there would have to be smaller ones in there some where?
l would also imagine these or very similar to black worm are found in thier river system.

At 1 year old a bit young for sexing, or thats what l think, and considering there has been 27 veiws and no replies so may most others also.

i cant speak for the L270, but the L201 would be fine, they are easy going and will start breeding at about 6cm...l would sell you some of mine young cheap if you pick them up in person :lol: :wink:

According to the book "Aqualog"
L102 Snow pleco size 15cm.
L201 Hyp.Inspector size 9cm max. wich is what we have and breed, there is no way known that this fish could could get to 15cm

l am confused, how can the two fish L201 and L202 be confused, did l miss somthing here? one is Hypan whilst the other is Peckoltia sp.

l did my first water change on that tank last night since l first saw they had spawned. The fry are now just under 2cm (love it when they hang on the glass in front of you), there had been a plump female hanging outside the males cave for days now and l noticed last night she was gone, Bugger! never...
