Don't believe me look here Haha. I think I saw that posted over on C-F, but it's odd I saw it before it was removed because I'm only over there once in a blue moon these days when I have not much else to do. FWIW, The Cichlid Room Companion is a great resource. The Malawi Cichlid Homepage is anothe...

oh, I agree, it might not affect the server at all. The server is onyl effected if the photo is hosted on that server, so there is no problem at all with the sever being effected in this instance. but it DOES affect the computer at home if it has to download lots and lots of hotlinked pix Exactly! ...

^ Indeed. I think that some tank decoration should be banned. Thanks for the input Silurus. It now makes sense why they seem to tuck themselves so deep into the nooks and crannies of the rockwork in their tank. I've got a number of large rocks in there already and there is a good current, so I...

S. decorus - natural habitat?
What is the natural habitat of S. decorus composed of? I see that in the cat-elog they are from the Congo basin, but more specifically, what would this include? Faster waters or slower waters? Rocks or fallen trees, or perhaps neither? What other species are found in their home waters as well? Congo...

Any Michiganders out there want to give me at least a shred of hope? hehe Hi, I am a little ways below Flint, enjoy a few synos alongside my cichlids, and really don't follow your agenda. Your poll question and your actually text question are different ... I voted before seeing what you had posted below. I like synodontis the best because many species are able to cope with african cichlids which is my primary interest. However, to respond to your second question - How big is your tan...

I'm sure that if you move them into a 55 gallon tank they will be happy to swim around. That will only work for some time and then we will be back to the 'having a closet for a room' analogy. Just be sure NOT to put any sharp decor since they just bang around at everything when they get scar...

Re: Bubbles top portion of water
Hi, everyone! I'm new here, got my 1st post. Just want to know if there's lots of bubbles at the top portion of the water in the aquarium, is there a possibility of protein buildup? ) That would be my guess. A protein buildup would prevent the bubbles from bursting at the surface. Do you have enoug...

Albino species are often much more prone to problems (weaker to begin with) than their normal, more natural counterparts.brianfl wrote:They don't seem to be growing nearly as fast especially the girth, they seem to stay much thinner and are a lot less active

Help with Synodontis ID
I was hoping someone could give me the scientific name of this guy I have. The guy at the LFS couldn't find the actual name, and the best he presented was that it came in as Synodontis sP "Lace". My cat is about 3.5" long now, perhaps just a bit longer. http://im1.shutterfly.com/procs...

Hi! I agree totally! We must use all kinds of contacts to animal rights groups , press, and everyone that would be willing to do something, (aquarists societies, LFS?) and tell where and by who such animals are "engineered" and sold! :x I would be careful of involing "everyone" ...

Re: Tank Setup with MANY *EDUCATED* QUESTIONS
pl*costomus (Hypostomus pl*costomus) - 2 or 3? ***** pl*costomus eats algae, most sources say I should feed additional algae wafers since 'there wont be enough to eat in the tank'. If I have a 120+ gallon tank, could a small number of them survive JUST off the algae? What you want are Ancistrus, as...
