Don't believe me look here Haha. I think I saw that posted over on C-F, but it's odd I saw it before it was removed because I'm only over there once in a blue moon these days when I have not much else to do. FWIW, The Cichlid Room Companion is a great resource. The Malawi Cichlid Homepage is anothe...

^ Indeed. I think that some tank decoration should be banned. Thanks for the input Silurus. It now makes sense why they seem to tuck themselves so deep into the nooks and crannies of the rockwork in their tank. I've got a number of large rocks in there already and there is a good current, so I...

S. decorus - natural habitat?

What is the natural habitat of S. decorus composed of? I see that in the cat-elog they are from the Congo basin, but more specifically, what would this include? Faster waters or slower waters? Rocks or fallen trees, or perhaps neither? What other species are found in their home waters as well? Congo...

I like synodontis the best because many species are able to cope with african cichlids which is my primary interest. However, to respond to your second question - How big is your tan...

I'm sure that if you move them into a 55 gallon tank they will be happy to swim around. That will only work for some time and then we will be back to the 'having a closet for a room' analogy. Just be sure NOT to put any sharp decor since they just bang around at everything when they get scar...

Re: Bubbles top portion of water

Hi, everyone! I'm new here, got my 1st post. Just want to know if there's lots of bubbles at the top portion of the water in the aquarium, is there a possibility of protein buildup? ) That would be my guess. A protein buildup would prevent the bubbles from bursting at the surface. Do you have enoug...

Life span is individual to each species. So i can't really give an average. However I can't think of a catfish that lives less than 5 years.

ron you say it was a bit pricey but from what you said i got a good deal at 21.00 each I was thinking that a pertricola twice the size of yours for $5-$9 more might have been a better purchase. That is why I mentioned "pricey". Perhaps I shouldn't have used that word and just said that fo...

Albino species are often much more prone to problems (weaker to begin with) than their normal, more natural counterparts.
