Re: Talking catfish ID
Sorry that was a typo. I meant 2 tablespoons per 10g. They are in a 10g tank for quarantine/treatment.

Re: Talking catfish ID
These guys have ich. I'm slowly raising the temp and adding salt. I'm at 2 tablespoons per gallon right now. What salt dosage is recommended for these fish?

Re: Talking catfish ID
I'm not sure if I want to chance it. My oscar is 7-8 inches long. These guys would fit in his mouth if he tried to eat it.
Both have speckled bellies so it looks like I have 2 males. I had ordered a 3rd but didn't take it since it was so small, I may go back and get it and maybe order a couple more ...

Re: Talking catfish ID
Nauticus looks to be it. Wow so they are pretty much full grown then. I was originally planning to grow out a couple striped to put in my oscar tank. These guys would be lunch. Looks like I'm setting up another tank for them.

Talking catfish ID
I ordered these guys and they were suppose to be Striped Raphaels. Obviously they are not. I looked through the cat-elog and I think they might be Amblydoras hancockii or Anadoras grypus. But I'm hoping I can get a for sure ID. They are approx. 3 inches TL

Spotted Orange Seam L106/L122.
I bought a spotted orange seam Dec.24 2003 and had him positively identfied here. He's doing well and eating like a pig, but doesn't seem to be growing at all. He's still and inch and a half in size. Are they a slow growing plec?
Also he is a very picky eater. Nothing prepared, or frozen is eaten ...

L122 Spotted Orange Seam Pleco Info.
My lfs has a L122. I positively ID'd it from the ecatelog. But I don't want to make an impulse purchase. Could anyone give me any info on these pleco's... Mainly diet and max size.. Do they require driftwood? Territorial? Actually any info would be great.

The aggression eventually slowed down, but never stopped completely. The Blochii still gave the oscar the occasional chase. But the damage remained minimal. Except for one time when the Pim startled the oscar and he smashed into the hood, cutting up his head.

I re-arranged the tank and that helped for one night but he's back at the torment again tonight. I just shut off the tank light and the Pim darted out of his hideout and went straight for the oscar. :( I'm going to try adding more plants and hopfully that will help. If it doesn't I'll have to figure ...

Finally a better pic.. Pim Blochii?
I borrowed a friends digital camera and managed to get a good close up shot of my Pictus. To me he doesn't look like a Pim Blochii. But I'm no expert. The top of his tail fin also curls over. I haven't noticed that trait in Pim Blochii..
The only reason I'm wondering is that the Pim is becoming ...

He has a piece of pvc which he uses during the day. There is also another hideout between two pieces of driftwood which he uses occasionally. I've noticied that he is also venturing out during the day. Which he never did before, he always waited until lights out to cruise the tank.

Problems with Pim Blochii.
I have a Pim blichii (4-line) that is getting increasingly aggressive. At least I was told he is a 4-line just minus the spotting on the upper body. He's approx 5 inches without tail. And shares a tank with a Juvenile oscar that is approx 3.5-4 inches without tail. Definately too big to be thought ...

Pim ID
I believe T posted this for me before.. Since you got the new boards I can't find the old post. Previouly I think T said that you peeps thought my fish was Pim Clarias. It was sold to me as a 4-line, Pim Blochii. But is missing the spots. I've brightened the pic since for some reason my camera made ...
