Re: How to distinguish LDA007 (L114) from L273?
Your fish has small head pattern so it's LDA07. LDA07 isn't L114, LDA07 looks more like "real" L600.

I would say both sexes. Head shape is different. Nice fishes. I have same quality 25 cm female. Would love to have male also.

Pseudacanthicus sp. L282?
Hi. I received an interesting Pseudacanthicus piece a month ago. It's 30 cm male with "pure" dark black body with bright white spots. I find it interesting that L097 is said to be smallest pseudacanthicus but this male is already 30 cm at a age of ~6 years. So could this be the controversial ...

Re: Pleco ID
I got another piece (sorry pic quality). Looks like stuby's fishes above. Sold as L124 too. L006 looks a bit same too.
Edit. This actually can be L124. Looked more closely of L124 pattern variations.

Thank you all for interest. Jobro thanks. Good to know. I only feed discus with "dry" foods and they have seem to be okay for an year. Re: Blue eye Panaque water temp/real panaque suttonorum?
I have now two pieces. These both panaques are from the same group of four fish that were exported from Venezuela to Germany. Both are about 30 cm long. 2nd piece: 20170716_122306netti.jpg DSC_0166 (2)netti.jpg DSC_0178 (2)netti.jpg 20170719_222310netti.jpg This 2nd piece has longer whiskers and ...

I hope you didn't pay for it as much as histrix costs. It's just a common pterygoplichthys pardalis.

Re: Blue eye Panaque water temp
Hi, I have been keeping my blue eye in average 29 celsius water almost an year and there hasn't been any issues. Eating very well Novo Pleco XL tablets and very small quantities of other foods. I will add pictures later. Interesting detail is that it dropped all it's brownish whiskers and grew new ...

Re: Pleco ID
To be honest, I feel fish number 1 is a L387. His small spots stop at the eyes. But L147 has small spots back to the dorsal fin. What I am way more curious about are the other 2 fish. Can you get a picture of their caudal fins? looks like the caudal is spotted as well? It's no typical L147 on any ...

Re: Pleco ID
As i said these are not my fish, but I think the most interesting thing is that there is no similar fish in L-catalogs(with pictures) as pleco number 1. Of course there is color/pattern variation but I wouldn't say it's the same L-number.

Pleco ID
Not my fish. These species are not familiar to me. Ancistomus? L147 seems quite close, but I wouldn't be sure. In my opinion this one has nicer coloration and more contrast than L147. These ind. were all sold as Para Pleco. Pleco 1. https://scontent-arn2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/16143167 ...

Re: Blue eye Panaque water temp
Thank you for your info. This is an interesting matter. Yes I don't know which river my fish was collected and I don't really know the real name of the fish, but my fish doesn't look like the ones that are "said" to be Upper Magdalena panaque cochilodon's. German importer: "Hi, we have imported them ...

Re: Blue eye Panaque water temp
Yes, discus food isn't good in long term, but I wouldn't be too afraid of that. I think I have enough experience with my other panaques. Still i will pay attention for this matter if discus and blue eye panaque in even possible to keep together in terms of water temperature. I'm more of a earth ...

Re: Blue eye Panaque water temp
I wouldn't consider it either, but i would like to put it to same tank with other plecos and nowadays I have discus too.
Here are blue eye and discus in same tank although it isn't probably the best comparison and ideal living conditions.

Blue eye Panaque water temp/real panaque suttonorum?
Hi, Is it safe to keep blue eye panaque in +31 celsius water? Most plecos are from Brazil Amazon basin and used to high temps but blue eye is from Colombia or Venezuela. I do know that most fish tolerate higher temps than recommended if oxygen saturation is at "max". Which makes me think there is no ...
