Re: What Fish Do I Need
I breed CW009 to support my hobby. It pays for my hobby but no real profit aside from allowing me to splurge once in awhile on other expensive fish I wanted. I looked for a rarer easy care fish that everyone wanted but couldn't get easily. Corys are great for that. Easy care, mostly easy to breed an...

Try slowly dropping the temp. I kept my green lasers at 72-74F, still going strong and over producing lol.

Interesting pattern on "BN"?
Picked these 2 out of a ancistrus tank along with 2 albino BN. Slow growing maybe 3" and 2.5" long compared to the albinos almost 4". Any help on I'd especially the chubby one with the neat pattern. Pretty sure the smaller one is just a regular bn female but not 100%. Thanks in advance.

I use quickrete playsand in my tanks, no issue other than a lot of rinsing needed at first. Around $10/ 50 lb bag, easy find at home depot in Canada.

advice on choosing a pleco
I'm starting a standard 4 foot 75G lake tangayakian cichlid tank and my little boy is begging for another pleco since I rehome his giant a year ago. It's occupants are some altolamprolongus calvus, some cyprichromis and hoping to add some synodontis luciPinnis. Water is going to be 78-80F, 300TDS an...

Re: Mixing Corys?
I would advise against mixing those horn dogs with others. I had a group of 5 pandas in a 75G with around 20 Habrosus, there both sees present in both groups. I had to destroy so many eggs due to witnessing fertilizathon on habrosus females eggs by panda males

Re: Gold laser and albino corys interbreeding!!!
I picked the same at a petsmart sold as bronze with gold blotch on shoulder and blue eyes, chalked them upto a mix of the Schultz either and bronze hybrid. Out of the 3 that survived I ended up with 2 females and a male but they never did show any inclination to spawn. Sorry for some reason my phone...

Re: Gold laser and albino corys interbreeding!!!
Same species, provided your albino are albino aeneus and not albino sterbai. The lasers are classified under aeneus (corydorasworld.com), so not hybrids but just a washed out coloration of the gold laser would be the result.

Re: I love corys, but....which ones?
I would suggest some décor in the tank before adding corys, a big bright open space is just going to stress them out.

Re: The Ideal cory fish room
I'd do a mini house (bigger than a shed but smaller than my house) with 400-20Glong tanks, species only, individual sponge filters with several air pumps housed in separate outside compartments (no noise), all tanks as natural as the origin site of fish for décor, heat each tank as necessary with th...

Loretoensis Dying Please Help.
Needing help yet again. Several months ago I purchased 5 C. Loretoensis and 5 C. Similis. I quarantined them for a month as they had already been quarantined at my lfs for 2 weeks, with no meds as my lfs (trusted) had all ready dewormed. All fish eat readily, active, if not to social and only issue ...

I've used the caribsea super naturals tahitian moon sand and never had an issue with it. Mine is now mixed with playsand because I have malaysian trumpet snails as what I did was use it as a top layer on the playsand.

Okay now I think its time to pm either Coryman or Corybreed and ask them to review your post as I'm at a loss. There is a section called Ask the Experts and they are the Cory experts (copied from the ask experts post) Third, pick an expert from the fields below and PM them from your topic asking for...

I've asked a few friends if they had heard/seen this before. Because it seems to be getting worse the top three answers were A) air borne polluntant from outside the tank, B) possible aenerobic gases from substrate, and C) majority agreed with corycory on internal parasites Cory safe parasite meds a...

Re: Sterbai Cory swimming erratically, breathing fast, won't
I've always found melafix to be a better treatment for barbel loss and it also seems to relax them a bit better in times of stress along with the water changes. Works well on torn or nipped fins as well and most fish aside from some bettas usually respond well to it for fin rot. Fingers crossed for ...

I'm stumped on your problem. Reading your post I thought SBD first, then thought maybe it self poisoned itself by possibly be spooked during your cleaning, my next thought was possibly a sensitivity to the kanaplex. I'm nowhere near an expert but what I would do in your position is, return him to ta...

Re: fry tank size recommendation and a few questions
For eggs I use smaller size marina hang on breeder box with no inserts, 2 drops kordon methyl blue, but what I do, I turn the breeder so it sits in tank with the airstone going. Another is the breeder box gets a good cleaning after each use with vinegar (1part vinegar, 3parts water) also great for c...

fry tank size recommendation and a few questions
So on Sept 25, I pulled about 100 eggs that my CW009 spawned and put them in a hang on breeder box. Have lost estimate of approximately 20 (infertile, blister belly) so have roughly 80-3 week old fry of varying sizes in the breeder box. I have a spare 15G ( foot print 24" x 12") that I can...
