Re: L239
Now that they've decided on territories they're not as visible, though easy to find. One is a piggy and as soon as the blue/moon lights are on he's on the food and nobody else is allowed near until he's finished.

Re: L239
They're 3-4" TL. They've decided to all hang out at one end of the tank where it's easiest for me to see them. (I'm sure this isn't for my convenience but rather some criteria of their own
)

Re: L239
These guys have pretty much staked out their little territories and aren't quite as visible. But the tank is set up so that I can at least find where they're hiding ![Tongue :-p](./images/smilies/10.gif)

It's just great to see the change in Alfred
You've done a wonderful job of rehabilitating Alfred. He's obviously now a very happy fish ![Big Grin :d](./images/smilies/4.gif)

Not quite as extreme as with the common BNs but . . . http://i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p568/ncestes129/Milo%20Oct%201%202014_zpsy4khbajh.jpg http://i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p568/ncestes129/Milo%20Oct%2028%202014_zps1cgw7hfq.jpg http://i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p568/ncestes129/Milo%20May%20...

Re: Medusa behavior query
Thanks for the info. They'll be moved to a 20L when I get it set up. They are a bit less reclusive since I've put 4 baby BNs in with them. Of course the BNs are out and about 24/7 and nothing fazes them.

That could be but it's odd that it's taken her this long to react. In the near future I will be moving them to another tank with rocks. We'll see!

Re: Medusa behavior query
I like that, spring cleaning! :d So far this evening she's been quiet. Maybe she's annoyed that I re-did her arrangement (the wavy substrate in the tank photo was her doing). The tank's right next to my laptop so I have a pretty good idea of their daily activities. I do have a split photo period and...

Medusa behavior query
My female has taken to odd behavior in the evening / night. She dashes / thrashes around the tank, throwing sand & plants everywhere. I can hear (but haven’t seen – lights all out) her splashing around at the top of the tank as well. I don’t have photos of dorsal view but there are no white spot...

Re: What's wrong with bristlenose pleco?
Too early to tell with Sr. Paz. This is a fairly recent color change and I've only had him just short of a year. I'm sure though that he's not a happy camper these days - after 4 spawns I took him away from his girlfriends ![Devil :YMDEVIL:](./images/smilies/19.gif)

Re: filtration and set up for 55 gallon bn breeding
A far-from-expert experience here. I have a 45g, gravel, plants, driftwood, ceramic caves, that is my BN breeding tank. (I do have other tanks I use for growing out some of the babies.) So far I've had 4 spawns in this tank and have currently moved the male to another tank until I grow enough of the...

Jeeze! Sr. Paz says he'd be happy to come visit your girl. :d Of course he's just an ordinary brown/black & white, but he'd quite happily spend the rest of his life in a cave with eggs &/or babies. He's an exemplary dad but currently PO'd because I've taken his girls away from him for awhil...

Re: Mixing Species In Growout Tank
I have 4 long-fin baby BNs growing out in a tank with my 2 adult Medusas and they totally ignore each other. The BNs only pay attention to each other - mainly dominance squabbles.

Re: Fat Medusa
These were wild caught so they're pretty reclusive. But the tank is next to my computer and the caves and driftwood are positioned so I can see what they're up to (or not). I feed them at the front of the tank so hunger occasionally overcomes caution :-p I feed them Repashy Soilent Green, Spawn &...

Re: BN fin length?
The length of the tail and the large amount of white on it were my first indications of long-fin offspring of a short-fin male x long-fin female.
