Re: Silutichthys sp. & Unidentified Orange-ish Rheophilic (?) Catfish ID?
On a side note, what would be the best setup for the fish? I think I might have to set up a separate coldwater stream tank with several flat, round stones and a sandy substrate, but I'm not too certain what the exact water parameters should be. Something that's intimidating me a little is how a few...

Namotcomoro's My Aquaria update
Hi @Namotcomoro
I see that you've been trying to update some fish/aquaria and several images look broken. I can help fix this but also could you describe what you did because there may well be a bug in there I could fix.
Cheers,
Jools

Re: L134 or Not?
Or, the breeder thought they had L134 and L066 but in fact did not. Pics or it didn't happen.
Given the number of times these fishes are misidentified I'd say it was more likely two Hypancistrus bred.

Have a look at the "jools fishroom" and also MarcW's fishroom threads - there are several others but both have long and regular updates on fishroom builds. Give me a shout if you can't find them.

Re: Pleco PH acclimation
Yes, thank you, it is nice to help here! Define far LOL. If less than an hour away: Set-up the new tank filters (and heaters if you wish) ASAP in the parent's tanks. It will be a mess, but they will all start working with the same water. If you up the water changes for a while it will probably keep ...

Re: Pleco PH acclimation
It's not too risky to move fry at this age to grow them out. It's not too risky to acclimate fry at this age to a neutral pH (over a few days). Doing both is risky - so thinking about how to de-risk it is key. What sizes are both sets of tanks? Can you set-up the new tanks with water for the parents...

Re: Temps for Microsynodontis
Hi Chris,
It's most likely to be Microsynodontis sp(1) but I have not seen them get much more than 2"/5cm, I've keep a few of these and congeners. Really unfussy - temp 74F to 78F or up to 84F as long as decent filtration.

I did have one question, does this site not offer what you are looking for, or would you be able to work with them to support what you are asking for? Just to expand on this, completely happy to help. I know that when we met Sean, you saw me supporting the next generation of catfish specialists and...

Re: Leapord Frog 134 tank size for breeding?
If you go to the species profile for L134, then find breeding reports, you will be able to read 30 breeding reports for this species many of which provide the tank size.
Hope that helps,

Bear in mind too that not all Synos that are commercially bred are hybrids.

Hard to say when they are that small, probably commercially bred S. decorus.

You can call them or chat on WhatsApp with +49 172 1347104. Good guys, speak fluent English. I was lucky to meet them both a couple of years back. Not sure they have a distributor in the US.

Re: Chrysichthys ID…if possible
The seller should know the country of origin. I'd lean towards C. aluuensis as an ID particularly if they turn out to be from Nigeria. If not then I know someone who knows the genus really well and I can ask. There are two species in the Cat-eLog that I never got to ID but almost certainly are descr...

Re: Smitten by the beautiful 'hybrid'
It is very pretty. However, the curved dorsal spine gives it away. Certainly Synodontis camelopardalis does not have a high dorsal fin and the size of the eye in your fish is striking too. Now, I really am guessing, but I'd say Synodontis eupterus crossed with another hybrid like Synodontis sp_hybri...

Re: Gold Dust Bristlenose?
Locality info. would help, but this is L071 or similar. Colour of the spots yellow to white is variable both by population and by husbandry. Pretty fish and a nice breeding project too.

Re: Does Hemiancistrus subviridis eat snails?
This isn't something I've heard of before. However, it's also the first time I've seen a heavy infestation of that type of snail (one of the spp. of Planorbidae?) where plecos were introduced. Usually the snail problem is with MTS ( Melanoides tuberculata ) which assassin snails (correctly I think i...
