Alritey =) I appreciate the help =) I have been adding pH 7.0 to it and it seems to hold steady in my tanks, but I know I will have to start changing things around once I get into a larger tank.

What do you add to the RO water to reconstitute it? What is the pH, kH, and gH of the water?


Tap waters pH is currently 7.9, gH is 31 which is 555ppm, kH is 143ppm.

Im not reconstituting my RO water, not sure how I would go about doing that.

Which parameters would you like to know? I use RO or well water on all my tanks, and adjust pH and temperature to fish preference =)

And no, I refuse to use tap =) Heavy chlorines, 8.4pH, usually a "grey tinge", will stain teeth after drinking for 6 or more months regularly, and will leave heavy ...

Edit -- Nevermind, I figured it out =) So, what Eheim would you personally reccomend?

It looks like the 2236 or the 2026 might be a good choice.

A canister filter is rather intimdating to me...This will be my first tank of any respectable size, ie, larger than 13 gallons.

Will I have to run my own pvc pipe? Whats involved with setting up a canister? Will I need a powerhead? I've dealt with Eheim before using their pumps for watercooling PC ...
