You can sort of accomplish this in the existing scheme.
Create population1.
Mark population1 as no longer kept.
Create population 2.
Go back and remove the "Stop Date" from population1.
Now you have two populations of the same species which can be kept in different tanks.

Re: Starting a fishroom
Things have been progressing in fits and spurts in my fishroom.
The one I'm most excited about is my 40 breeder below a south facing window, for which I took some inspiration from bekateen's kinon tank. My goal was to get as much caustics (shimmer) and hard shadows from plants all cast on the sandy ...

I can now suggest Cupramine as a method for killing it. Though it's not 100% guaranteed.
Shortly after this thread was made I resolved to try to tackle the problem in my tanks. I removed all the fish and as many cherry shrimp as possible from the tanks to be treated, and I dosed the Cupramine as ...

My Aquarium Photo Not Updating
I've been trying to update the photos of a few of my aquariums but it's not successfully updating on the My Aquariums page (my aquariums #2 and #11). I go through the motions and it doesn't give any obvious errors, so I don't know if it's user error or not.

Re: SL-aqua Z1 bio protector with corys ?
From the descriptions on the product it sounds like it may be the same thing (betel nut) as No Planaria. Which has successfully eliminated hydra for me.
The tanks I've used it (No Planaria) in had paleatus corys, otos, L010a whiptails, and various loaches and seemed to have had no ill effect on ...

Re: Anyone know what this is?
I don't have any plecos, so I could only guess. If there were a commonly available pleco species that is easy to care for and eats this sponge, I would certainly be interested in hearing about it
.
But from my experience so far, I can tell you otos, cherry shrimp, and amano shrimp don't eat it.

I will second freshwater sponge. Probably from the genus Ephydatia.

And I'm sure you're all on it already, but it looks like the Cat-elog for H. osvaldi might have some copy-paste errors in it. As I'm sure it's not from Lake Tanganyika nor "Could be confused with Synodontis polli"

adjusted the color to a faint blue. My main light bar doesn't do an evening sunset fade, so it's either on or off. My Tatia and Microglanis are very nocturnal so I don't see them in the daytime. I'm hoping the light bar will allow me to see the fish at night without disrupting their behaviors ...

Yeah, they're normally chubby and also prone to over eating. I've always got the worry in the back of my mind that this might mask the early stages of bloating, but I've been fortunate to not have to deal with that yet.

I would think two should be fine together in a 55gal. Mine never cause any harm to each other, at most the occasional tail slap or head butt seems to be all that's needed for the bigger fish to tell the little fish to move.

Re: Spotted/Striped Raphael Questions!
1. They prefer softer water, but they appear to be rather robust, with one of the raphaels I rescued was living ~15years in what was tantamount to brackish water (tank was heavily encrusted with salt scale), and it acclimated to my more neutral water with no hint of an issue. So your parameters are ...
