Re: My new Synodontis Melanostictus
I read the thread and I see where you're coming from. It's not easy to respond to this for me, since I don't feel black or white on this topic.
On one hand I don't support creating "new species" by force just for profit, on the other hand, I did buy hybrids in a similar situation like this here ...

Re: My new Synodontis Melanostictus
Is it the eyes that gives them a hybrid look? My question would be, why are there 3 exact same hybrids. They must have been collected at the same time. major coincidence (but not impossible, sure)
Too bad there is no species I really can pin them too. I will to love them as hybrid too :)

Re: My new Synodontis Melanostictus
Hi Jools
Keep in mind, on my pictures hes not perfect from the side and the tail is not black in real, just darker yellow. Any idea what it could be instead? Maybe nigromaculatus?

Re: My new Synodontis Melanostictus
Thank you very much. It was a first time for me as well. I'm not 100% sure it's a melanostictus, but I couldn't find any other species that came close. I had to check on the database ;)
The rest of the synos are still at the LFS. They had an 6.6" (17cm) angelicus, which I took home too. I already ...

My new Synodontis Melanostictus
Hi everybody
I'm pretty stoked about my newest Synodontis cats. Recently I found 2 Synodontis Melanostictus at my LFS. At least I'm pretty sure that they are. They came from a customer who quit the hobby and had around 20 Synodontis (My type of fish keeper XD). The LFS didn't know what species they ...

Re: Please help me identify this 7.8" Pleco ID
Jools, I think you are right. I didn't think of the the l128, since I only knew them a lot darker and like the name, more blueish. This one is an olive green. I checked the pictures on the database and some of the pictures look very similar.

Re: Please help me identify this 7.8" Pleco ID
Not ideal, but better than the first ones. The longer I look at the picture, the more i think to myself...Could it be a "ugly" L200? I mean if I compare it to my l200, the dots are the same, but it has a lot more grey in it. What do you think? For comparising, my L200.

Please help me identify this 7.8" Pleco ID
Hi guys, today I got this almost 8" Pleco. The woman who had him for a of couple of years told me she bought him as L18. I know that's not the case, so I was hoping you may have an idea.
the color is brownish/greenish and the dots are bright brown/yellowish. Like I said, he's about 7.8".
I payed ...

Re: Introduce myself and aaaaand of course, a question...
Thank you all very much for your comments and help. Sorry for not answering, I was on vacation.
It's a shame to know he's a hybrid. Just because I can't get him proper mates. They usually don't sell hybrids on purpose here.
Thank you again.

Introduce myself and aaaaand of course, a question...
Hi guys, Im Stefan, 31 years old and living in switzerland.
I do have 5 fish tanks with different fish, but right now, my heart beats mostly for the cats ;-)
A quick list about the most important ones:
2 Ameiurus nebulosus (brown bullhead) both about 30cm (11.8") each of them has a 90 gallon ...
