I am pretty sure is Infertile.
This is the classic "white meat" right inside the egg.

The situation will generally improve and get better with further spawning ... good luck.

Seldom got such info in books i have.

This species seem relatively easier to spawn like aeneus.
I have friend in taiwan breeding them already.

UGF is a no no for frys. They get stuck inside. Bad idea.

UG no no. The fry will dig under it and get stuck or crushed. Food will seeps in as well.

6 gallon is ok. Make sure no overfeed. And change 20-30% water daily if possible.

I prefer slightly lesser than ph 7. But usually i got 7 since is from tap.

Bigger tank means big volume of water which provides
stability in temp. and longer water quality. A healthy fry should be able to find live food that you drop in a 1.5ft.
Else there will not be cory species in the wild.

This is my current practise.

No overfeed. Twice works just fine. Use Live bbs instead. No other food till 1.5-2 month old.

Use tap water only of about the same temperature as the fry tank with Anti-Chlorine/Chloramine.

Generally lower pH around 6.5 most cories will do well.
Temp not extreme should be ok for aeneus-like species i believe.

Agreeds with Ian. 20 inch should not be a problem with any corys. They are fish and are experts in swimming easily !

Going up for a gulp of air over 30 or even 50 inch often should not even be a problem at all.

Did not pull up a duplicareus. Instead i got a look like adolfoi again. See pictures.

I have a physical feel on the anterior side of the pectorial fin. Is actually a bit rough in the inner section but smoothen nearer to the tip.

another thing i notice is the small black specker spots on the fins ...

How all this. Are they gold laser as well ?

Looks like certain under water breathing organ malfunction if this is true.

Kind of "hanging" to suffer for life. Maybe can do some resting slope for her ? It will be really interesting.

Just found a bit weird that i seem to have an odd one out fry. The one on the right is duplicareus.

Left fellow seems a bit smaller. Possible a duplicareus or is it from another species like C. atropersonatus or C. brevirostris ... which share the same main tank ?

Thank you all. Yes. C. hastatus ... coming ... soon after i finish with this one. Not easy to "play" with C. duplicareus frys as they grow bigger.

The rots that kills him last about a week. Start noticing the shrimps keep get attracted to his tail fin though he is swimming and eating ok. He will just ignore them and swim a small distance away.

But his tails soon get shorter and shorter with difficult in swimming till he die the day after the ...

someone says is probably old age ....

My first Cory species & breed as well is Trilineatus.
When I talk to the LFS, the impression i had that time it was from Malaysia farm. I could be wrong ... as it happen few years back.

This fellow has been with me for more than 2 years.
From a thin and weak fellow to a strong one.

At one time (maybe a year ago) almost his entire tail gone. But he recovered. But his tail is always at slightly burn-our fray condition. I thought is natural.

Recently the problem comes back again ...

Luckily my tank continues to spawn "Duplicarues Eggs" after removing the 2 Adolfoi to another ... phew !

( Purchased them long time ago separately in 3-4 batches from different LFS)

I have kind of similar story. Got a dozen a year ago.
They die down to 4 due to various reasons. A month ago they breeded ... and 6 frys already grown up to their parent colour. Half a dozen more frys on the way to let me exceed the original numbers.

I know you add methylene blue. How much, how often and in how big tank ?
Lightning ?

I did heard before sound coming out from my tank in dead night. Probably from this guy as it is swimming near the surface that time.



Is more like they are suckling on the water surface rather than talking which made all the noises.

I think we still have not answer why later batch starts to fungus easily.

One maybe past Food accumulation in the tank already kickstart the fungus growth ? So subsequent batch facing an uphill task of survival.

Notice any Water chemistry change like pH ?
